Factory Acceptance Test (FAT), Hungarian Post – Magyar Posta Zrt.

16.8.2023 by Petra Alho

Transparency and reliability are the core values of Mailroom Solutions Oy. We believe trust can only be earned through concrete actions and daily work.

During the last week of July, Mailroom Solutions Team welcomed guests from Magyar Posta to our main office in Seinäjoki to join the Factory Acceptance Test. FAT is a process in which the manufacturer tests the machines and the systems before they’re delivered to the customer. The purpose of the event is to ensure that the agreed delivery will meet the customer requirements.

The time together was spent effectively: vast amounts of project related information was discussed and documented, systems & machines successfully tested and mutual cooperation strengthened.

Delivering mail to approx. 4 million addresses in Hungary every day, Magyar Posta will centralize all mail sorting into one logistics center, by using Mailroom Solutions provided computer-assisted OCR and CAMS stations. The complete solution will bring the sorting work efficiency & quality to the next level.

Mailroom Solutions Team sends warm thank you for the successful FAT-week to Magyar Posta professionals & friends, we’re now good to proceed further in our project!

Despite the slightly rainy weather in Ljubljana, we had a very warm and open atmosphere at this traditional postal event. It was a pleasure to meet “old” and new friends, the existing and the potential new customers: sharing in person insight and building international network & collaboration. It was also interesting to hear about the challenges and opportunities that the national posts are currently facing and learn more about the postal business.

Based on our profound round table discussions, the Mailroom Solutions team is able to further develop the products and the services to fulfill customers’ current and future requirements.

I’m happy to continue the discussions and build fruitful cooperation together. The industry is going through significant changes and with the Mailroom Solutions expertise, we can bring real added value and cost savings to the daily postal operations.

Finally, I would like to thank Mr Derek Osbourne & Ms Manale Azar for the very well organized event. Also our hosts, Pošta Slovenije and the local organizer Ms Simona Bratuša provided a great setting, thank you.

With Best Regards, Janne

“A bad day in London is still better than a good day anywhere else.”

This famous quote from an unknown source describes indeed our trip to Facilities Show 16.-18. May. It was the first time for our company to join this particular event and we were curious to see what it would have to offer. We decided not to have our own stand this year, but explore the venue by foot.

London ExCeL was convenient to reach with the new Elizabeth Line and all the event arrangements were well organized. When getting to the Facilities Show hall, we were surprised to notice that there were no competitors nor bigger Facility Management companies exhibiting.

After the exhibition opening hours, by nice pints of local beverages, we wondered the reason for this. Maybe our niche field of industry is not too well known among the FM services companies and may suffer lack of attention when offering a service package to the end customers?

Also when having a chat with a couple of event exhibitors, the message was clear: “Handling mail and parcels – indeed there is nobody to raise this issue here, but should be!”

We had our accommodation in the Canary Wharf area and what an amazing part of the city it was. As of 2023, having five out of the top ten tallest buildings in the UK and with numerous headquarters of well known companies, Canary Wharf represents an excellent example where our products and services could be used. So, our next trip to London will be either exhibiting in the next Facilities Show or making an elevator speech tour to the city’s central business district.

London for sure is a city that seamlessly blends history and tradition with modernity and innovation. We were lucky enough to also spend a couple of hours in Central London to see the most iconic landmarks and feel the atmosphere of this unique capital.

Best regards,

Petra & Hannu

As an European operator with long traditions, Magyar Posta offers its customers a broad variety of mail delivery, logistics, banking and marketing related services. The origin of Magyar Posta dates back to 1867 and it was one of the first operators in the World to motorize its postal transportation in 1897. Today, this modern national postal service delivers mail to approx. four million addresses in Hungary every day.

We’re delighted to announce that Magyar Posta has chosen Mailroom Solutions as its supplier in a public tender – according to the representatives, the offered solution was the best in terms of price-quality ratio to meet the customer’s extensive requirements.

Magyar Posta’s strategic goal is to centralize all mail sorting into one logistics center, by using computer-assisted solutions. As per the signed contract, the complete solution provided by Mailroom Solutions will increase the efficiency and improve the quality of sorting work.

The agreed delivery consists of 25 units of OCR stations and 60 units of CAMS stations, both including the related IT system – with 36 months of manufacturer support, commissioning and training.

Winning this tender strengthens Mailroom Solutions’ position in the global postal industry as a reliable vendor of computer-assisted sorting systems.

The Mailroom Solutions Team wants to give thanks for the trust and is happy to start the cooperation with Magyar Posta 🇭🇺🇫🇮

Liechtenstein Post has received two new mSorter OCR stations to speed up the mail handling in their delivery hubs.

“We have been very happy with our mSorter OCR 200 LF stations in Schaan and wanted to expand the fleet also to our new delivery hub in Gamprin-Bendern. Cooperation with Mailroom Solutions has been agile and smooth – we can rely on their competence also regarding the maintenance services” says Mr Martin Hemmerle, the Head of Sorting.

Sunset in LiechtensteinCollaboration was officially started in 2019 with a pilot project. According to Mr Hemmerle, learning a new sorting method required a bit of work, but was worth it. After implementing the mSorter OCR stations, Liechtenstein Post has been able to handle most of ex-manual sorting consignments with this semi-automated system: “Mailroom Solutions has been able to implement various adjustments, based on our specific needs. In addition, the possibilities of statistical evaluation and investigation are also very interesting.”

The Mailroom Solutions Team wishes happy sorting to the staff of Liechtenstein Post and wants to thank you for warm hospitality during the installation trip to Liechtenstein!
