Typically the shipment data is pushed to a background system. Furthermore, the Mailroom Manager server environment supports various methods for notifying the recipient and directing the shipment to the cheapest delivery channel. For example to the closest parcel locker unit.
Computer-assisted sorting
All mSorter devices support utilization of sort plans and frame types. This way also the standalone mSorters can be used with existing sortation furniture. The intuitive user interface indicates the correct sorting location using a frame map and coordinate.

Streamlining an eCommerce Parcel Process
Like many mail operators, Posti Group Finland has struggled with the sudden growth of Far East eCommerce parcels. Until recently the process was completely manual and expensive.
Posti Group partnered with Mailroom Solutions to create an OCR assisted and automated process for handling eCommerce parcels.
Posti set strict requirements for the process and there were no existing solutions in the market at the time.
The ultimate goal was to develop a “One Touch” handling solution. The recipient had to be identified automatically. Posti also wanted shipments to be registered to ease the further processing and suitable notification and delivery methods to be selected automatically.
A Swiss Pharmaceutical Company
The customer, working in pharmaceutical business, has 230 buildings at their campus. In the area, there are more than 12 000 employees.
The postal department handles daily over 15 000 shipments. Most of it, over 12 000, is mail which is delivered to mailbox frames in floors. Parcels are delivered personally.
Additionally there are pallets, thermal and chemical shipments and registered mail. The customer works globally so they have an agreement with a shipment carrier. Employees are allowed to send shipments using the carrier when needed.
The company had challenges with their old track and trace system, the integration to the company IT infrastructure and also with the registration and delivery process.
But after the deployment of the Mailroom Solutions environment, things have changed significantly.
Nowadays, the mail department is able to register up to 1600 mailpieces per hour using two Registrar OCR stations. Customer complaints have decreased significantly. The time used in registration has decreased by 40%.
Employees are more motivated and their stress level has dropped because of better usability and support in their work. Errors in delivery have decreased by 80%.
Overdue bills from the carrier operator are now history and over 90% of all issues have been solved during the same business day.
